When meeting Ian you could come face to face with either two sides of him. The laid back, care free side. Or the side that is a total dick. He could be sweet as pie, but when it comes to certain things, he gets defensive and almost violent. Some of it due to the use of Cocaine. If met with the Care free side of him, he is more kind and hasn't a worry in the world. He is mold-able in a sense. His Care free personality leaves him seeming like a push-over and that is most times not even the cases. In some cases people take his kindness as something they could abuse. But at some point there has to be a breaking point right? His addictive personality was something he couldn't fight and he would take to it well. Having a cocaine addiction he had found himself in several relapses and anger managements that have failed him, which in turn made him fail his family. With that being said, Ian would do anything to have Evelyn and his daughter Alice back, and that even meant going to clean himself up. He figures if he could love his girls as much as he did; he could love himself. But there was always more to the story and holding that back from his wife, may just made the bridge that he thought he built so strong....collapse.

Background History:
Every story has two sides; The ones we see and the ones we hear. That being said, this is Ian's story. Ian James Tobias Hale was born October 23 1986 on a decently warm night in Waikiki Hawaii. The best night in what his parents thought were their lives. But were they sadly mistaken on how things would turn out. Life was good. He was the baby. His brother's were gone before he was even in middle school. His parents were pretty older but that was okay with him. He never quite lived up to their "potential" he would so call say.
He was a pretty boy, always was and always will be. That was at least what he learned about himself as he went through school. He would always get the grade; it wasn't trouble it was he was more play before study type of guy. He had gone through a lot of changes, he found himself a little a long the way. He made friends easily. He wasn't a wall flower, he was the guy that played on the football team, could have the head cheerleader. HE was that type of guy. But there was always something a little more special about him.
As he was growing up his mother told him a story, and that story always kept with him. Never let a pretty girl cry, because their tears were special and should only fall when it was something beautiful and happy. That was something he lived by. Which takes the story to how he met his wonderful wife. Evelyn was the girl that wouldn't be caught on the football field, or wearing a Varsity jacket of the Quarter back, but she could be. At least that was what he told everyone. Because in his eyes there was no doubt she deserved Queen status. But lets divert to the day they had met. Or well the first time his eyes were really opened to the beauty of her. He had been heading to lunch and heard soft sobs; having being a snoop he had followed them and seen her and bit his lip. Not one to really interrupt someone in fair that he would be yelled at, he went on with his day.
Only he had found himself finding out where her locker had been and from that moment a friendship blossomed and it turned into so much more. They were stuck at the hip through school and it was the only thing that made him feel that things were worth living. He was a whole year and a half older than her, but that didn't even matter. When they had graduated He had a amazingly schemed out plan to make her, well his forever. Everything was a whirlwind after graduation.
Married by twenty one, he never thought he was too young. He loved her, as far as the galaxy could go. Stress was slowly getting to him; After their small intimate wedding that was when he started to experiment here and there with "Relief". When they learned they were going to be parents, he was excited, and yet he was more scared than anything. He didn't want to mess up. As the fears grew so did his little habit. It had moved from weak things to getting into a heavy drug addiction. And he knew that it was showing in his demeanor as they were preparing for their little girl.
When Alice was born; he couldn't believe he made her; or well helped but that didn't matter much when it came to the fact that he was hooked on something so strong. He tried, so hard to be a good father. But the need sometimes over took the matter. He was in a spiraling, disarray of drama. It had gotten so bad, that when he was buying he was owing.
Three years, that was the trip that would leave him in regret. Owing the MS-13 was a thing that no man would ever want to be doing. Especially a man with a family just starting. The withdraw to the need was great. He had tried getting the money. Even tried working things out in several different ways. But It had finally come to the point they were threatening the only thing he was truly living for...His family. He rather of not had to bury a innocent child, because her dad was a complete ass. It was that night that Evelyn had also given him the ultimatum, her and Alice or his coke habit.
Not wanting them involved in the math; he had left the house, clearing out their savings. Every penny that would pay the "Debt" off and went to the one place to start his rehabilitation. Paying them off, in hopes that his daughter would never have to ever see this side of him, he left and went off to the best Rehab center he could find with the rest of the money he had.
Living in California for the next three years he, grew as a man. The first nights it was hard. The withdraws the worst of it all. The tremors of need that filled his body scared him. But it was for a greater purpose he would remind himself. No one new where he was. He had a picture of his baby girl and his beautiful wife on the wall to remind him. The program filled him with actives to keep him straight. Working out and getting on the path he one strayed. He found himself going to college for Culinary arts. Cooking, all part of a plan to win the woman he knew he had hurt in the long run, back. With that he also learned how to work with plumbing to bring a lot of cash back in.
While he was in there, after the two weeks of solitude he had written thousands of letters. In hopes that she would write back. What hurt him the most, was thinking she had moved on. With a new lease on his life, he moved back home. A place he once had scattered bad, to rekindle the hope he needed to make it through at least this life time.
Like in any story, this is his side. Only time can tell what will happen in the future.
