background history:
Venessa is the youngest daughter of Fredrick and Melanie Delacorix. Her older brother, Damien was 10 years older than her, while her older sister Selene is five years older than her. Selene and Damien were always very close, getting into trouble together and making life for their parents difficult. That was possibly the reason why Malenie Delacroix treated Venessa like a little doll, the princess of the family. She ensured that the younger daughter was always dressed in beautiful dresses and engaged in all the respectable activities for young girls. She wanted to avoid the older two's poor influence on the child. Venessa was four years old when Melanie first signed the daughter to a dance school, specialising in ballet. And despite not wanting to admit it, the girl had fallen in love with it. And what more, she was good at it. Melanie would sign the girl up to every recitle, play and competion she could, and over the years Venessa brought in the trophies and fancy titles from winning the dance competitions. So many claimed that the child had real potential, to keep pushing her towards dance schools. But it didn't quite go as planned.
When Venessa was eight years old, Damien decided that he would join the army. And since he had turned 18, their parents couldn't stop them. It was difficult for everyone in the house hold, especially Selene. And with her partner in crime gone, the two sisters turned to each other for attention and friendship. They grew close very quickly, and Selene helped to take the young child out from their mother's protective wing and show her the world. Knowing that she was interested in dancing, Selene introduced Venessa to other forms of dance including hip hop. She stopped going to ballet classes and instead spent time with her sister who taught her the fun side of breaking rules. The two sisters became best friends, and despite their age gap they often spent time together. Because of how close Venessa was to Selene, their mother had hoped that she would be able to sway both girls into being the perfect 'ladies' that she had wanted, but the harder she tried, the more both of the girls defied their mother.
It only got worse when Venessa was fourteen years old. The family recieved a message that Damien was Missing in Action. It sent Selene over the edge knowing that the sibling she was so close to was now gone. She started to mess around with the wrong crowd, the type of people that even Venessa didn't want to be around. Then, when she was around 15, nearly 16, it happened. The thing that she knew would eventually happen. Selene spread her wings and flew away from the nest, leaving Venessa alone with their parents. All the responsibitliy had fallen upon her shoulders, the expectations. It wasn't easy, at least until she met Ryder. He was two years older than her and trained to be a professional wrestler. The two hit it off instantly. He was the perfect guy: sweet, funny, caring, loyal, honest. He spoiled her and melted her heart, ended up wrapping her around his finger. Ryder was Venessa's first in many instances, and after dating for a few months the two teenagers decided to move in together. Venessa was sixteen at the time, and things at home had gotten so over the top, that she simply couldn't handle it any longer. She still visited her parents frequently, but no longer living there made things easier. Her parents liked Ryder more or less, despite not approving of his chosen profession. At least, until he won the state championships and one of the wrestling companies signed a contract with him.
Seeing that the job could get the young man some where, Venessa's parents began to approve of him more. But just as they did, Venessa began to see flaws in him. He turned colder, was rougher, his anger spiked faster than normally - and her own attitute didn't seem to help. But she loved him, or so she had always thought. Still wrapped around his finger, Venessa became his little trophy. The perfect girlfriend. They were a couple everyone wanted to be. Especially when Ryder had won his biggest match. Standing in the middle of the ring after the champion's belt had been put on, he took a microphone and invited Venessa to the stage, announcing to the world how amazing and special the woman truly was. Confused, embaressed, but over the moon, the seventeen year old girl stepped up onto the ring not entirely sure what to expect. But no one in her wilest dreams did she prepare herself to watch him getting down on one knee, pulling out a small black bock and speaking to the microphone so the whole stadium could hear...
"Venessa Delacroix, will you give me the honour of being my wife?"
Naturally, the madly in love teenage girl agreed, remembering how everyone cheered. Remembering how passionate he was when they got home that night, how happy the two were. But sadly, their happiness didn't last.
The better he got, the more famous he became, the colder and darker his personality turned. Venessa was studying business management at the local college at the time, but Ryder claimed that there was no reason for her to study the field, all she had to do was love him. He claimed that it took away her attention, her devotion to him, and for the first time during a rather heated argument he laid his hands on her. It was that night that Venessa realised how much he had changed, but even then she didn't know the whole story. They lived the pretend perfect life for another year. Happy in public, but turning a darker shade behind closed doors. She knew there was something else driving his behaviour. The hot and cold attitude. One moment he was still the man she had fallen in love with, and the next she didn't exist. There were even times when she feared him and his short temper. But everything became clear a few months after her 18th birthday.
As it turned out, Ryder was living a different life in the dim lights of fame. Sleeping around, smuggling and taking drugs during the after parties. Carter, an under cover police officer, was the one who took him away. He offered Venessa a shoulder to cry on, but she was stronger than that. She visted Ryder when he was in jail, throwing the engagement ring at his face and telling him that it was over. It was both one of the hardest and best decisions of her life. To walk away from the man who broke her heart. Who slept around behind her back. As she was leaving the prison, Venessa swore to herself that she would never give her heart out to anyone again. That she would never be foolish enough to get into a relationship. Why bother, when she could just be someone's one night stand?
Living alone in Chicago for a year, Venessa got a job as a waitress to save up enough money to come live with her sister in Hawaii. During this time, she met a man named David, a one night stand that turned into something else. It was never a relationship, but rather he introduced her into the world of dominance and submission. He showed her the hidden life of BDSM, taught her what it was to be dominated, to submit. What it meant, and how to do it safely. Neither of them ever grew feelings for each other, but he changed Venessa during that year. She found herself rather bored of the 'normal' sex life many lead, and it was that pickyness that stopped Venessa from sleeping around as much as others may assume her to do. She was flirtatious, a tease...but so rarely did she actually take people home with her.
Over the course of the time spent alone, Venessa also receieved messages from a secret admiror. Or at least, that's what she called him, because a 'stalker' felt much too creepy. And she never took the letters seriously, often throwing them out without even reading them. She never told anyone about it, nor wondered who it might have been. Finally, venessa managed to save up enough cash to take the leap of fate and move to the tropical islands of Hawaii.
She lived with her sister at first and worked for her at her bar, Cayote Ugly, eventually deciding with her sister to become one of her managers. They worked well together, got close as before. Everything was going smoothly, even after Venessa had saved up enough money to move out and buy her own place. Life was perfect, and then she met Sawyer Franke. The man instantly flipped her whole world up side down and she found herself addicted to him. They hit it off quickly as fuck buddies. He was everything she wanted in a guy, or at least in the bedroom. And that's all that it was ever meant to be, but fuck buddies turned to friends with benefits. And before she knew it, Venessa realised that she had fallen for him, and fallen hard.
But things couldn't have stayed perfect for long. A ghost from the past returned to haunt her. It had been four years since Venessa broke it off with Ryder in the prison, but somehow he managed to track her down, having a twisted idea in his head that she was still his. Yet the time spent behind bars didn't seem to calm his temper and when Venessa ever so 'politely' told him to fuck off, Ryder had gotten violent. The police were called, and Sawyer was the officer on patrol that came to settle the despute. But seeing that Ryder had hit Venessa, Sawyer's anger got the better of him and the two men ended up fighting. During the fight, Sawyer threatened Ryder to leave Venessa alone. It was then that Sawyer realised his feelings towards Venessa, although he didn't want to accept them. But the downside of the arrangement the two had with each other? He wanted nothing other than a one night stand. Just another piece of ass to add to the list. He never intended to fall for the raven haired woman either, and frightened of his emotions towards her, Sawyer made it evident, in a rather heated argument, that she was nothing more than a screw and that he didn't care about her before walking out on her. Never having expected to be anything more than fuck buddies, Venessa didn't look for a relationship with him, but the fact that he claimed she wasn't even a friend had hurt deeper than she expected. But as stubborn as she was, Venessa didn't argue back, letting him walk out the way he wanted.
After a particularly bad day at work, Venessa decided to get drunk before heading home. She was about to drive under the influence, but Ryder was waiting for her outside. He stopped her from driving alone and instead took her to his house. She was so drunk that she didn't even fight him, and her drunken complains about Sawyer were enough for him. The two slept together, but during it Ryder got rather rough with the still drunk woman. And not in the way she enjoyed. He left multiple bruises over her body, including a deep purple hand print around her neck from where he almost chocked her to death, even after she had already lost consiousness. He wanted to make it clear that she was his again. Naturally, when Venessa woke up the next morning, her head swimming from the hang over and mind heavy with regret, she left him without saying a word and returning to her life as if nothing happened between them.
But a few days after the incident, before the bruises had the chance to heal, Sawyer was out on patrol and stopped by the bar to make sure no trouble was stirring. Seeing Venessa working, Sawyer went up to her to talk about anyone starting touble, when he noticed the marks on Venessa's neck. With the way that she was reacting to him, Sawyer knew that it was Ryder to had done it, but Venessa claimed that some people liked it rough, not wanting him to get involved. But Sawyer didn't believe her, demanding her to tell him that she wanted Ryder to hurt her like that, to look her in the eyes and tell him that she was okay with it. So she tried to lie to him, telling him that because she was drunk she didn't care. Naturally he saw right through it, and kept demanding the truth, but she tried to keep avoiding it, telling him she was fine and that it was nothing. But when Sawyer still didn't beleive her, Venessa tried to do to him what he's done to her so many times. Push him away. Say something to make him walk away. So she told him that she got really drunk and was going to home but Ryder stopped her and offered to take her back to his place. She told him that she said no, but when Ryder asked if he would be there to stop her, she kissed Ryder instead and only rememebered waking up in his bed the next day. Frustrated, Sawyer took Venessa out to the back storage room so they could talk privately. Once in the empty storage room, he finally admitted that he cared about her and that he wasn't going to let Ryder hurt her. Startled by his confession, Venessa was speechless, telling him that it wouldn't happen again. Sawyer pleaed that she never went back to Ryder, and she calmed him down promising that she didnt want him near her again.
After that, the two were practically insperetable. They weren't offical, but everyone knew they were exclusive to each other. At least until one evening when Venessa joked about dying from speeding. But her joke wasn't taken all too well when Sawyer turned serious. Venessa quickly reassured him that she was just kidding, yet when he confessed to not knowing what he'd do if he lost her, Venessa was stunned. She promised him that he would never lose her, not until he wanted her gone. Admitting that he didn't ever want her gone, Sawyer made it clear that she was his, to which Venessa reassured her that she was only his. It seemed that nothing could break them apart, no matter how many fights they had or disagreements.
Over time, Venessa had found out that Carter - the man who arrested Ryder - was working in Hawaii. They had remianed friends throughout all the years, but to him it was more than that. Carter had grown obsessed with Venessa. He had been the one sending her the 'fan mail' and love letters, but Venessa never knew. One day, when Venessa had forgotten her house keys, she visted Sawyer at the station, where the two took refuge in an empty interrogation room, getting rather hot and steamy. Their little fun however was disturbed when Carter walked in on them, and the couple took their desire somewhere private. But Carter was furious that Venessa would have chosen someone like Sawyer. The two of them had gotten into a rather heated fight, and haven't spoken since. He even stopped sending her the letters, but Venessa never correlated the two.
But a huge bombshell fell into her life. Suddenly, Selene vanished from the face of the earth. Venessa couldn't get a hold of her no matter how hard she tried, until a few days later when her mother contacted her saying that Selene was in Chicago. Figuring that something must have happened between her sister and Chris - her hopefully soon to be fiancée - Venessa didn't think much of it and instead simply continued to work at the bar. But while she was away, the dead began to walk. Or so it felt, when Damien came to Hawaii. As it turned out, he was never MIA, but rather was forced to go on a Ghost mission. For the past eight years. Venessa didn't know how to react, and despite Sawyer and Sky getting on well with her older brother, she never got close to him.
The two were crazy about each other. But it all went wrong when Skyla, Sawyer's twin sister, found someone. Sawyer had always been over protective of his sister, and his dislike towards Klaus was felt from the first time he met him, finding him feeling up Sky against the wall. It only went down hill from there. Due to a series of unfortunate events lead by Marcus' hand, Skyla, Selene and Lana amongst a few others had been kidnapped and attempted to be sold into slavery. Hunter and Klaus were the two MS-13 members responsible for the trade. Sawyer walked in on Marcus feeling up his sister and Klaus interrupting them. In the heat of it all, Klaus shot Sawyer in the shoulder. Sawyer wanted to file the report, but Skyla threatened to never speak to him again if he did. Over time Venessa and Sawyer often argued about the other couple, Venessa aruging that Skyla deserved happiness even if Sawyer didn't agree with her chosen partner.
Sawyer ended up working longer hours, and the strain of fights and less time together was starting to show. But the final straw came when Skyla had fallen pregnant. Sawyer was furious with the fact that she was engaged and pregnant with Klaus' children and he got violent. Venessa was so shocked that she didn't know how to react, and their own argument sparked. It was worse than before and in the end Sawyer ended up punching the wall beside Venessa's face. For the first time since they met, Venessa was scared of him. The argument finally left when Sawyer told Venessa to leave - and seeing the state that everything was in, she did.
Losing Sawyer sent her down a deep dark hole. She drank from the moment she woke up until she went to sleep. Venessa isolated herself from everyone. She stopped talking to Skyla and Damien, and Selene still was no where to be seen or heard. Ryder had gotten word of what had happened and wanting to get revenge on his ex, he arranged for a man named Jimmy to give Venessa special attention. Jimmy was a known drug dealer, or more like sampler. He often spiked girl's drinks or gave them drugs without them realising. it's how he slowly got them hooked then drained them of every last penny.
One night, Venessa sat on one of the couches of the night club, the blaring music making her head swim. Or maybe it was the amount of Jager shots she’s taken. The bottle must have been near empty by now, yet the numbness and finger-tingling sensation weren’t enough to silence her thoughts. She watched as the people danced, and flirted, made out randomly. Her life in a nutshell. At least, before meeting Sawyer. He changed her whole world, tipped it upside down and shook it about for good measure. And when he left, no matter what she tried to do, she couldn’t go back to the person she once was. She was his, and the thought made her heart ache more than anything. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t get over him. Couldn’t forget him. Couldn’t stop thinking that she simply wasn’t enough for him. Not supportive enough of his career, too demanding, too needy. Her head shook as she looked down at the last filled shot in front of her, beside a nice little pile of empty shot glasses, and without a second thought she downed it. But when she sat the glass down on the table, she noticed a man sitting in front of her, making her arch a brow. “Hey there, pretty las.” He spoke over the blaring music and all she could manage was a small smile, her eyes straining to focus on him. It took only a glance to tell that the young woman was nicely trashed already. “What cha doin’ all alone, ‘ere? A pretty thing like you shouldn’t be alone” He continued, but Venessa only picked up one of the empty shot glasses and waved it in front of him, making the man chuckle. Getting up he moved to sit beside her, putting an arm around her, but she shrugged it off. “Oh, ya got a fella?” he questioned, finally making Venessa laugh sarcastically and shake her head. “Nah… not ‘nymore” She replied with slurred words. The man grinned at the thought and put his arm back around her, pulling her against him. “Don’t worry sweetheart, Jimmy can help ya forget ‘im” He murmured in her ear. Arching a brow Venessa looked at him before laughing lightly and shaking her head “And what makes ya so sure?” She questioned her slurred words. The man just smirked and took one of her arms, pressing it down on his lap. One hand dug into his pocket as the other squeezed her upper arm making Venessa whince in pain, trying to pull away but he was holding her firmly. Her head spun dizzily as she looked at him, before looking down at her arm, seeing him holding something, but in the club light it was too hard to tell. At least until she felt the pinch of the needle and the sickening sensation of liquid entering her veins. “NO!” she protested and pulled away sharply, the syringe ripping out of her arm, blood coming up to the surface. But the man just kept a hold of her against him, murmuring sweet nothings into her ear as the drug flowed through her system and Venessa finally calmed down. Her eyes barely stayed open as she leaned against him, trying to focus on something, anything, but her mind was swirling. She couldn’t think, could barely see and feel. And for once, she got the numbness she wanted. Venessa wasn’t sure how much time passed, she could hear the slurring of words but couldn’t reply. Nothing was making sense to her, the music sounding distorted and the lights made her eyes water. She didn’t even know when they moved until she was stumbling around trying to walk, the floor feeling odd beneath her feet, the drumming of her heart in her ears. But the room they moved to was different, dim lit without the flashing of the lasers, the music wasn’t overly bearing and the couch seemed so much softer that she melted into it. Her eyes struggled to stay open as ‘Jimmy’ sat beside her, stroking her hair. His lips were moving but she couldn’t make out what he was saying, even as he climbed on top of her. She barely felt his touch until his fingers roughly slipped inside her, making her eyes widen. “N-no!” She protested, trying to push him away “S-sir would… be mad…” She muttered the words almost incoherently but it seemed to work. Jimmy moved away, sitting beside her again, licking his fingers as he watched her. But his figure turned blurry and the dimness of the light filled her vision before everything went black and her eyes closed. “Finally” he muttered to himself, peering over his shoulder to make sure the room was locked before climbing over her body again. Damien was walking home from the pub after a few drinks with friends, heading towards the taxi lane, stopping suddenly when he saw the unconscious woman. There were a few people around, looking at her but no one moved. No one did anything. Her raven locks blocked her face, but even then he knew it was his sister. Without wasting a moment he ran over to her, quickly pushing her hair out of her face and checking her pulse, relaxing a bit when he saw that she was breathing. Moving to pick her up, the small bead of blood on her arm caught her attention, taking the forearm into his hand to get a closer look. “Fucking drugs, Nes?!” He muttered, picking up her body and climbing into a cab. “W-where…” she muttered, waking up slightly, and instantly calming down his nerves. “It’s okay, sis. I’ve got you, I’m taking you home” He cooed, holding her close.
Despite how many times Damien asked about what happened, Venessa couldn't tell him. She couldn't recall, not at first. It took her a few weeks to realise, from fragments of her memories, that she didn't do it to herself. She remembered talking to the guy, and after almost a month, she returned to the club again to see if she could remember more. And she did, but the problem was, Jimmy was there. And he remembered the raven haired woman too. As before, Venessa had consumed far too many shots of alcohol, and like before, he was far too quick for her. Another shot, and another night of no memory. But unlike the first time, one of Venessa's friends had seen her around and rescued her before Jimmy could have his way with her. She woke up at the girl's house with no recollection of what happened, but unlike the first time, her memory came back faster, clearer. She could remember his face, and remember it well.
Time passed, and Venessa avoided going out into the clubs. She stayed home and drunk herself into oblivion. But that all faded when one of the girls Venessa was serving admitted to having a crush on a rather handsome police officer. It didn't take her long to realise who the woman was about, and it broke her. Instantly. Venessa walked out of the bar without a word and headed straight to the club. It didn't take long before the resident pervert came to the club and this time Venessa eagerly sought him out. It didn't take long before the bombshell beauty had caught his eye and was soon unconscious in his lap. But before anything could happen, one of the bouncers had seen her pass out and helped to take her outside. Once again, Jimmy had gone empty handed, but Venessa broke. She stopped going to work, stopped leaving the house. At least until her brother had come to visit her. To snap her out of it. It worked to a degree, after a rather heated argument, Venessa agreed to get herself cleaned up. And just as she started to clean up, she had run into Sawyer.
Their reunion wasn't the most pleasant one. The two argued - a lot, but eventually they sorted things out, more or less. As their nature, the two started to get rather steamy, however Sawyer decided to take it slow this time. To make it proper. However doing things by the book, so to speak, wasn't as easy as the two imagined it to be. Especially when Venessa purposely teased him, just to test if he really wanted a proper relationship with her. A test he passed with flying colours. Although that didn't go as planned once Damien found out that Sawyer is back in town. He went to talk to Sawyer and sternly tell him to stay away from his sister. The two ended up having a minor fight, during which Damien snapped and told Sawyer that it was his fault Venessa was taking drugs to simply get through the days. The news shocked Sawyer, however rather than discussing the past with Venessa he decided to encourage her to clean up. She cut back on her drinking to her usual habits before he left, and even decided to open up a dance studio.
Everything seemed to be finally getting better, until Chris, her sister's ex and another police officer, came into her work to ask questions regarding any information she might have about women getting drugged. If her friends had mentioned anything or if she's heard something herself. That's when Jimmy came up. Venessa told Chris which club to go to and what was being done, but he was curious as to how she knew all the information. After some heavy persuasion, Venessa and Chris went to his house to talk in private where she told him everything that happened. Least, what she remembered. Knowing how this situation happened to her, Venessa and Christopher agreed to bait the man out so that Chris could get evidence and take him away for good. Agreeing not to tell anyone, especially Sawyer, the two went to the club. Venessa started to drink, however unlike all the other times she put on a facade until it caught Jimmy's attention. It wasn't long until she was around his arm and his offer to make everything better sounded all too familiar. However, before he could do anything to the raven haired woman, Chris arrested the man.
Feeling quite happy that the man was behind bars, Venessa hoped that everything would settle into place from now on. Her sister's bar was a success, her dance school was finally ready, and her relationship seemed to be going well. Everything was falling into place. But the mirage of peace was ruined when Dimitri broke into Venessa's house. Using her as bait to draw Sawyer away from Sky's house where Lana, Travis, Shiloh and Lane were hiding out, Dimitri went up to Venessa's bedroom where she was sleeping. Dimitri climbed over the top of the nude woman, covered only by the silk bed sheet. She woke up just in time to feel as Dimitri pinned her down, one hand moving over her mouth to keep her quiet as he sat over her chest diaphragm, making every breath difficult. His knee pinned down her right arm so hard that it cut off the circulation to her hand making it numb. His feet and shins held down her thighs, but that didn't matter a lot. Once happily in place, Dimitri pinned down her left arm and using a surgical scalpel and deadly precision he carved the words "Tick Tock" into her forearm, making sure to do the cuts deep enough that they would bleed out if left for too long, yet not deep enough to cut any major vein and cut her life sooner than he intended it. Venessa didn't know what was happening, even as Dimitri spoke one of his famous riddles.
Do you think he would drop everything to come to your side? Tick. Toc. Do you think he'll leave them alone?"
But before she could figure out what it was all about, he hit her over the side of the head to knock her out, putting the sheet over her to hide her body and leaving.
It didn't take long for Sawyer to arrive at the house with Lane. He tried to wake her up but it was to no avail. Calling the ambulance, Sawyer went to the hospital with Venessa where she was patched up and allowed to rest. The nurses tried to reassure Venessa that she was fine, that her cuts would heal but with Dimitri around, Sawyer knew better than that. When Venessa awoke she, naturally, lost her temper at the memories, at least until Sawyer explained what was happening and what Dimitri had done. Now, as the police and the others try to hunt down Dimitri and get rid of him once and for all, Venessa is finally surprised with some good news. Selene returning to Hawaii. Except now, she had to fill her sister in on everything that's happened.
Venessa stands at an average height of 173cm or 5' 8". She has long, wavy raven black hair that sits at the middle of her back and mesmerising blue eyes. She's Caucasian with an ivory shade of skin.
