Personality:
Having spent his early years with strong female influence, Anthony has a lot of respect for women. It's only made confusing by his tendency to want to shelter them and be over protective. He's the type of man who has to have a schedule. Even in his self destruction, he has a routine from day to day. He wakes up, works out, go to the beach, has breakfast at the same one out of three places every morning. It helps him to observe his surroundings easier. Spot who is out of place, and keep an eye on them. Old habits die hard.
Once he finds something he likes, he sticks with it. That applies to clothes, places, food, and sometimes people. Despite being able to read people, and communicate easily enough, he still prefers to keep to himself for the most part. He knows people can't be trusted. Even people you think you know. He hates that he drinks so much and is so depressed about his situation, but he also refuses to "go back" to reality. It's unhealthy, but at least he can trick himself into thinking that he's happy. Lately he has been about finding his inner peace, and the art of seduction, but could use the cold slap of reality to get back to work.

Ironically enough women have always been his weakness. He has a soft spot for what he sees as the fairer sex, and has a bit of a hero complex that can get him into trouble.
Weapons:
Basic knowledge of self defense, a hunting knife usually kept near his bed, and a handgun usually kept on his person.
Background History:
Anthony Ball was ever the obedient son. He was born worshiping the ground his father walked on. Caleb Ball was a detective and rarely had time to spend with his family, but that did not deter the boy from wanting to be exactly like him. He was a hero. While other children spent time watch saturday morning cartoons and reading comics, he watched crime shows and read mysteries novels. Because he spent a lot of time with his mother and sister growing up he was always well dressed and groomed. It earned him a lot of bullying. He was never a fighter, but always followed the rules which just so happened to involve telling the teacher. He was known as a nancyboy as well as a snitch, but he always took pride in doing the right thing. For the most part he was just a well rounded boy with a strong sense of right and wrong, and a blinding loyalty to those around him.
when his sister turned sixteen, all she wanted was to go to the carnival. So his father took a few days off from work in between cases and they all stayed at a hotel by the beach. It was the best four days of his life, and his sisters. They ordered room service, rode all the rides, and spent the day playing games. Most importantly, they were spending time with their father. As good things often do, the vacation ended with a rude awakening. A crazed shooter who was heartbroken by the divorce with his ex wife showed up at the hotel they were staying in. The family of four was enjoying the pool when he came in and started shooting. Anthony had just jumped off of the diving board, Rebecca was sitting at the edge of the deep in, their mother had been in the dressing room, but Caleb was closest to the entrance. When the gun went off, several people were hit, but only three fatally. Rebecca who fell forward into the pool as Anthony was coming up from the bottom. A stray bullet that went through a window and hit a bicyclist, and Caleb. The off duty detective that threw himself into the shooter to prevent anymore lives to be taken.
Anthony and Isabel were well taken care of by the men in from his father's precinct, but Anthony began to rebel. He didn't want to be his father anymore. Be a hero.
Before he got out of high school, he'd had a few run ins with the cops. Breaking and entering, and theft were his specialties. The guys who worked with his father always cut him slack, which only made him more resentful until one of them made him spend the weekend in lock up. That weekend in lock up with a bunch of people who were failed by the system made him want to be a better man than he had been. He found himself wanting to help people again. Especially when it came to one particular girl. A prostitute by the name of Nashringa. He kept in contact with her afterward and founded a close relationship with her. They kept their distance from one another after he graduated the police academy since she still wanted to make her living selling her body, but he kept a close eye on her.
By twenty five, all was going well in his life, he had a career, a girlfriend who worked as a nurse at the hospital, and when he could, he popped in on his mother to make sure she was okay. But one day he went to check on his oldest friend, and she was no where to be found. He became distracted, unhinged, and his unusually short temper was cut in half. Using his every resource he vowed to find her, but he wasn't stupid. He knew how women like her ended up. It was years until her body wad found. Within those years he lost his girlfriend and moved back in with his mother. He was well known for his unusually harsh words, and brash actions at work, and was pretty close to needing a psych eval. So he left.
Only knowing of her grandmother who lived in Hawaii, he had Nashringa cremated and decided to personally take her home. Once he landed in Hawaii he faxed in his resignation and cut off contact from everyone he knew.
During the day he spent his time learning to surf, and drinking. At night he spent his time looking for comforts of the flesh. Nothing could make the hurt go away, it just made it easier to go from day to day now that he was in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
