Five-O
Five-O is a small, special state task force that accepts only the finest individuals to take part in its quest to bring justice to the islands of Hawaii, no matter what the cost might be in such a circumstance. It was originally created by the old Governor of Hawaii, Gov. Pat Jameson, in order to investigate the more serious crimes throughout the islands that the state police did not have resources for. The task force was originally, and still is, headed by a Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarret, who was part of the United States Navy Reserve (USNR). The special task force originally consisted of five dedicated members, hence their decided name, and was an unknown entity across the islands; however, with the increased success rate of their missions and crimes solved, the Five-O task force has become a respected law enforcement agency that is feared by most criminals. With the expansion of their name, and the increase in gang-related crimes, Five-O has expanded its numbers to hold more than five individuals, albeit their numbers are still significantly smaller than when compared to HPD and the Hawaii FBI.
Five-O has been tasked with investigating crimes ranging from terrorism to kidnapping to more severe gang related crimes. With authorization from the Governor of Hawaii, Five-O may take over, or gain access, to many and all crime scenes that involve the Honolulu Police Department; and may often butt heads with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) when jurisdictions of the more serious crimes are in question. Recruits into the task force are not required to have a police or investigative background, although it is preferred; in some cases, retired SEALs, marines, and other navy personnel will be invited to join the task force simply because of their outstanding records of service, where loyalty is a vital key concept. It is a mutual understanding amongst all Five-O agents to do whatever it takes to uphold justice; this is reinforced by the full immunity card presented by the governor of Hawaii. In addition to the need for justice to prevail, Five-O members may be seen as a family figure and will not hesitate to help a fellow officer should he/she need assistance in personal matters. Five-O stands for everything that should be right with the world; they believe in truth, trust, justice, and loyalty.
The main Five-O headquarters is located in Aliiolani Hale, at the site of the famous Kamehameha Statue, found in Honolulu, Hawaii. Regarding issued vehicular transport, all members of Five-O are required to own their own vehicles and do not receive any particular model or type of car from the state. Service weapons are also up to each individual's preferences; in the headquarters, an arsenal houses an array of guns, ranging from 9 mm pistols to shot guns and other firearms that might be used in the navy. However; it is wise to note one of the Commander's many rules: Always carry a knife on you.
PLEASE NOTE
Five-O may only be acquired through staff status, or a fee of $5 000.00. In addition to this, you may talk to the Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarret should you wish to pursue a career with Five-O. He will likely decide whether or not you are able to join the task force. VIP Status will also open this law enforcement agency to you.
