OHANA LAHUI
Strong. Stubborn. Dangerous. Determined. Loyal. Manipulative. Those are a few terms that are often thrown around when one describes the local Hawaiian gang, Ohana Lahui. They are the oldest and largest criminal Hawaiian gangs, having claimed their turf in all of the Hawaiian islands as well as having their influence spread across to the shores of the main land USA and other nearby countries and islands.
Unlike the other deadbeat gangs that have spread crime throughout America and the world, the Ohana Lahui take pride in their turf. In the people that live there. Hawaii is their home, and they protect those that live within it.. for a small fee and a blind eye to their tactics. They are what many call the underdogs. The outlaws. They keep the streets safe in ways that the police and other law enforcement wouldn't dare to try. You have to fight fire with fire, as some would say. But what makes the Ohana Lahui so different to the other gangs? Well it's because they are often seen as a family. Despite the evident chain of command, they work together and are loyal to the bone. There is no petty fights to climb the ladder of power, no plotting to throw the leader off his throne. Because the Ohana Lahui fight as one. That is where their strength lies. In trust and loyalty. Two things that take so long to gain yet can be broken with a simple word.
The members of the Ohana Lahui are always natives to the islands of Hawaii or those who have come to make these shores their true and only home. Those that have proven themselves worthy. The members will always bare the tribal markings of energy, freedom and emancipation, the markings that make up their crest. However, since these markings are Native Hawaiian markings - they are often seen tattooed upon the skin of many tribal leaders or Hawaiian locals, making it difficult to distinguish those within the gang amongst other locals. This has been started to signify the Ohana Lahui's role within the community. Hawaii is theirs. And the locals know it.
The Ohana Lahui are known to break numerous crimes sugh as: drug trafficking, firearms trafficking, murder, kidnapping, aggravated assault, pyrotechnics, extortion and piracy. Unlike other crimes, these are carried out in the dark, in the unknown, away from the eyes of the civilians. The only thing that they make public is the punishment for betraying the others. For feeding information to the law enforcements or other gangs. For keeping profits to oneself. For breaking the trust and loyalty that has been the key. This punishment is often seen through brutal torture where the gang's crest is forcefully removed from one's skin before being beaten to the curb, always resulting in a disability. The Ohana Lahui do not kill those who fell from their ranks. They make an example out of them to show the definition of hell one will go through afterwards, often resulting in suicide to escape the torture.
