Bicurious

Family Status: Single child
Is the Character in a Gang/Law Enforcement Agency/ Citizen: Citizen
State your Industry and Occupation: Dancer and photographer
Personality: Stella is a kindhearted girl who wouldn't even be able to kill a fly, unless there was no one else around to kill it. She is somewhat airheaded and doesn't realize that sometimes she says things that simply don't make sense in the context of a conversation. She can also be somewhat flighty and bounce from one topic to another without notice. She is shy and withdrawn at first but quirky and excitable once she gets to know someone. Stella loves animals, although she despises bugs and reptiles. She is highly ambitious and will sometimes take too much on her plate, causing her to stress easily. She has a history of anxiety, depression, and two suicide attempts. Despite her mental illnesses, Stella would do anything to help someone, unless that meant hurting someone or something else. She has a strong sense of morality and can easily tell between right and wrong. However, if threatened, Stella will make the decision she feels best for her safety, even if it means leaving someone or something behind in her place (like another person or an animal). One day, Stella hopes to get over her cowardly tendencies and actually be courageous and stand up for herself and others.

Background History: Stella was born on January 4, 1994. Her mother and father were happily married three years before Stella was born. However, complications from child birth eventually killed Stella's mother six months after she was born. Stella's father was in a deep depression after his wife's sudden passing and he withdrew, leaving Stella with her Aunt Glory. Aunt Glory was older than Stella's mother by ten years. She eventually became like Stella's mother. Aunt Glori introduced Stella to dance when she was four years old, and Stella immediately loved it. Dancing was eventually what brought her father out of his shell and back into reality.
One night, Stella was so excited about a dance recital that her father appeared, scolding her and telling her to quiet down. But after watching Stella practice, her father began to take an interest in her life once more.
When Stella turned eleven years old, her father began to take up a new hobby and bought himself and Stella two Nikon digital cameras. Once a week father and daughter would go to remote locations and take as many pictures as they could and later that night show them all to Aunt Glori in a slideshow. Sometimes, they would even have Aunt Glori pick a winner.
Aunt Glori had been diagnosed with Stage 4 liver cancer when Stella was fourteen years old and died a month later.
Stella was now in her own depression. She had never had to deal with loss since she didn't remember her mother. Since her father had no desire to remember what loss felt like, he did not teach Stella how to cope with it. She knew about death and its ways, but she did not know how to deal with the grief. This is what led Stella into her first suicide attempt.
Four years later, Stella graduated high school but did not continue her education in college. Instead, she became a dance teacher at a local studio. Stella loved her job, but soon after acquiring a position, the studio burned down and Stella became unemployed for the next six months. During those six months, her father passed in a car accident. A month after his passing, Stella was evicted from her small apartment that she'd shared with her father. These turn of events led to Stella's second suicide attempt; an attempt to jump off the roof of her apartment building.
The police were called and eventually Stella was coaxed off the ledge. Without her family or the ability to cope with grief and loss, Stella admitted herself to a psychiatric facility. She remained there for the two years until she checked herself out and began work again at another nearby dance studio. After saving up, Stella decided to move to Hawaii, wishing to study the traditional dance there and practice her photography of the natural scenery.
