Is the Character in a Gang/Law Enforcement Agency/ Citizen: Citizen
State your Industry and Occupation: Works at her aunt's weird antique shop
Personality: Despite her dark looks, Lydia is a fairly cheerful person. She is often quiet and tends to keep to herself, but if she talks to someone she is very open and polite and kind. She can be easily excited, almost like a child, usually by odd, or small insignificant things that most normal people wouldn't be so entertained by.
When she's not getting worked up over one thing or another, Lydia is a generally calm person, more a lover than a fighter. She isn't a very confrontational person, and will more than likely just shrug things off. Even if she does become angry, she simply becomes even calmer and quietly uses her words to battle, rather than violence or even yelling for that matter. She rarely swears, so when she does, the people who know her know there's something very wrong.
She is generally one to stay home on a weekend, curled up with some tea or coffee and a good book. However, she has been known to go out to small get-togethers with her friend Sara and a few others, as well as drink with them.
Lydia is a highly passionate person. She takes great pride in her knowledge, no matter how trivial it may seem to others, as well as the work that she does. Whether it's volunteer work, research, taking care of her family, or at the antique shop, she often puts her whole heart into things.
She is also very open-minded, about pretty much everything. From religion to supernatural possibilities, to more simple and normal controversies such as gay marriage, she believes that anything is possible and everything should be given at least a chance to exist.
Lydia is very family-oriented, and protective of her kin. She can also be very maternal, as well as a giant worry-wart toward them. She's always checking up on them, and when they've even the slightest bit ill or injured, she goes into immediate nurse mode, flitting around to aid them no matter how much they insist that it's nothing.

Background History: Despite what people may conclude about her looks, Lydia grew up in a stable and loving home. She had both a mother and a father, and when she was six she became an older sister. This was an accidental pregnancy, but it was still a blessing for them all despite being unplanned. They weren't incredibly close, but they were close enough.
Growing up, Lydia had many different styles. As a child, she was a tomboy, running around and playing with bugs. In Elementary school, she was a girly-girl, then a tomboy again in Middle school. In highschool, she became fascinated with many different styles of dress, including Goth and Lolita, and began to dress rather oddly in the opinion of her classmates. A few began to bully her a bit, calling her a Witch and a Satanist, asking her if she believed in God or cut her wrists. This got her curious. What if she was a Witch or a Satanist? What was it all about? She began her research on the different Occults because of this, and became fascinated with the world of religion and magick.
Lydia was sixteen, almost seventeen when she began dating James. They were together for almost seven months. It didn't last extremely long, because James was abusive to her. It was mainly verbal abuse, yelling and name-calling, as well as some controlling behaviors, but he also put his hands on her occasionally as well. He never hit her, but he would grab her and sometimes push her, and even burned her with his cigarettes a few times.
When she was seventeen, her mother was in a car accident. The other person swerved into her lane, so she swerved away and hit a telephone pole. The other person swerved to miss her as well, and ran off the road. He was fairly okay, but her mother wasn't. She was in a coma for almost a week, and it took almost a month for her to be well enough to come back home. During that time, Lydia was afraid she might lose her, so she got an M tattooed on the back of her right shoulder, in honor of her mother's name, Marie. When she finally did come home, Lydia had the tattoo altered, adding a D and a G for her father's and brother's names, with the M in the middle, honoring her entire family.
After that, the family became very close-knit.
She was eighteen, still in highschool, when she started dating Gabriel. He was perfect to her, and they stayed together for almost two years. He ended up wanting to go to New York to an art school, and even though she was sad to lose him, Lydia knew how much his art meant to him and let him go.
After she graduated, Lydia wasn't quite sure what she wanted to do with her life. For the time being, she volunteered at the local library, just for something to do while she wasn't with her friend Sara and her boyfriend. They weren't hiring for an actual job, but it didn't matter to her any because she liked the work there. She eventually began considering going to a Community college for now, until she figured everything out. The next year, which was after Gabriel left for New York, her aunt invited her to stay with her a town and a half over, to work at her antique shop. The pay wouldn't be an extreme amount, but at least it would be something. Lydia jumped at the chance to have the job, because not only did it greatly interest her, but she could at least make a little bit of money for school later on. She now stays in close contact with her family through phone and text.
